Kratos: God of Cute

5.25.2010 || 5:01 PM

This is Kratos. A cute, lovable pooch that Katie saved from being put to sleep all because the family was too lazy to really look for a home for him. He's a six month old Pomeranian mix and is a total sweetheart. The previous family had named him Snickers, but does he really look like a Snickers? No! So, we all piled together and came up with the name Kratos, after the video game character from God of War. It doesn't really fit his personality, but oh well.

As cute as he might be, he was not very cute for the first half hour as I tried to drive him to my house as it's much easier to babysit a dog in your own home rather than someone else's home which happens to be an hour away.
The whole ride home, he had to sit in my lap. There was no pushing him into the passenger seat as it was painfully obvious that the seat was a deep, dark abyss that would swallow any unsuspecting dog whole. And if having this medium sized pup in my lap wasn't enough, he had to bark and howl because I was some strange lady taking him away from the only master who had ever really shown him love.

Once we got home though, everything went pretty nicely. That is, until.. I decided after a hard day of sushi eating and drawing with Katie, I needed a bath. I took a 20 minute shower and within that time, Kratos decides that my room is just not complete without two piles of dog crap and a puddle of puke right smack-dab in the middle.
And if that wasn't enough, my bed would obviously be ten times better with a puddle of pee right where my pillow would be.

After everything was cleaned up, I packed him into the truck and brought him to Petco to see if he'd like any of the treats or toys since he didn't have any. He sniffed every single toy but never found one he liked.. sampled every treat and didn't finish even one. Two hours later, we left empty handed.
About twenty minutes after we got home, he decided his favorite toy in the whole wide world would be my sock.

Well.. at least he's easy to please.

On another note, I start work tomorrow. I'll be waitressing in that little Japanese cuisine restaurant/sushi bar. I'm excited that I'm finally being scheduled and hired! I'm not sure who will be teaching me what to do though.. I'm really nervous, and I hope that I won't mess up too much.

Moving and Puppies

5.22.2010 || 3:05 PM

So, I'll be moving soon! My friends, Katie and her boyfriend, found a really cute house (yes, a house!) for us to move into. We had been planning on moving into this really nice, four bedroom apartment with another friend of ours.. but then we found this house and we pretty much threw the apartment idea out the window. It's $800 a month, two bedrooms, two bath and they even allow pets! Huzzah!

Speaking of pets.. I'm dog-sitting a really cute Pomeranian puppy for Katie until we actually get moved into the house. I'm picking it up tomorrow. It better be as super cute as I imagine it to be. That reminds me, I need to puppy-proof this room...
You know, now that I think about it.. I don't think I've ever actually owned my own puppy before. This shall be fun!

I just ordered a USB SD card reader, so I'll actually be able to post up pictures of the puppy if I can find my camera.

I just realized how many things there are in this room for a puppy to chew on. Dammit.

L4D2 and Canceled Plans

5.11.2010 || 8:22 AM

Isn't it cute? It's a hunter I made from L4D2. I'm thinking about turning this little picture into an actual charm! A phone charm or for a necklace, maybe. Either way, I think it would be really cute. If you could buy one, would you? Leave your answer in the comments. <3

Also, my plans to go to Michigan were canceled pretty last minute. My father decided that he didn't want me to go and took my truck keys away as well as refused to drive me himself.. even told me that if I asked anyone else to bring me, he'd pay them not to. I don't know what kind of bug crawled up his no-no parts, but he shouldn't try to control me like this.
Either way, I'm hoping to move out somewhere closer to my college. I'd be moving in with my friend Katie, her boyfriend, and my boyfriend. Maybe one other person too to help with the rent. We'll be getting a 3 bedroom apartment that's in biking distance from jobs and the college. It'll be fun!

Speaking of jobs, Katie is helping me to land a job at the little Japanese restaurant where she works. I hope I get it. She said I'd have to harass the owner for, like, a month. I'm so willing to do that. :| HE WILL GIVE IN TO ME, DAMMIT.

Anyway, I'm hoping everything works out for the best now. That's all anyone can ever do, right?

PS.
I feel special.
I got my first comment! It was by a very nice, encouraging guy by the name of Tim. He said some very kind words to me that made me smile for the rest of the day. :] Thanks, Tim!

Vacation Time!

5.04.2010 || 3:20 AM

On May 14th, I'll be leaving on a 9 hour flight to Michigan. I will be greeted at around 9pm by Kyle! My amazing boyfriend. :) He and I will be living together along with his brother and his brother's girlfriend for a couple of months. I've only ever played a game or two of L4D2 with his brother, but I figure since I like zombies and he likes zombies that we'll get along famously. I hear his girlfriend is pretty nice too, so I'm excited to meet her as well.

I love planes. They're so big and... aerodynamic. The ride itself is pretty awesome (especially if you get a window seat). However, I've always had issues with the take-off and landing. Much more so the take-off.. You know how when you get on an elevator and it starts going up or down.. you get that feeling in the pit of your stomach? No? Well.. I know that feeling all too well and a plane pretty much feels the same only ten times worse. It makes me nauseous and I get this horrible feeling of dread until we're either completely stabilized in the air or on the ground. I really feel sorry for the person who gets the honor of sitting next to me because I'm not entirely sure if I'll puke or not. Not to mention, I get to take-off and land three times.

I'm pretty nervous about the whole ordeal. I'm scared I'll miss my flight or get lost in the airport. Airports are hella crowded if all the movies I've ever watched that had an airport in it somewhere are correct in their representation. I don't have a sense of direction so I don't think I can trust myself to get to the right gate in any kind of timely fashion. I'm sure they have people around who can at least point me in the right direction though, so that's always a plus.

In any case, I'm super excited to go.

If I can find my stupid camera I'll take and upload pictures of the whole thing. You'll get to laugh at me getting lost!

Also, for those wondering, concerning my previous post.. Weezul didn't make it. He put up one hell of a fight over the past few months, but in the end the little guy just couldn't keep up. The medicine we bought him wasn't working. He looked and probably felt miserable. He refused to eat and would only lay there when we took him out to cuddle and comfort him. We put him to sleep on Sunday morning. He had a good and loving life with us. :) We hope we made his life a very comfortable and enjoyable one. He deserved it.
R.I.P. Weezul
